Celebrating the life of

Spencer Tracy Mason

March 16, 1966 - November 21, 2024

Spencer Tracy Mason

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Spencer “Tracy” Mason, who was called home to be with our Lord on November 21, 2024, at the age of 58. Spencer was a devoted father, papa, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tracy was born on March 16,1966, in Savannah, Ga to the late Thelma and Joseph Mason. He was the youngest of seven children. From his early childhood years, it was evident that Tracy was a free spirit, whose zest for life and love of adventure were unmatched. He lived on his own terms, embracing every opportunity with passion and courage.

Tracy had a lifelong passion for sports, excelling as both a running back and quarterback throughout middle and high school football. Later, he passed on that love by coaching Little League baseball, sharing the joy of the game with young athletes. He was a strong advocate for his children and grandchildren staying active and pursuing athletics. Tracy spent countless hours creating lasting memories through sports with his family. It made no difference if he was at the ballpark or shooting hoops in front of their house, Tracy made sure everyone got out there and had a wonderful time.

Tracy followed in the footsteps of his father Joe and brother Leonard, becoming the owner and operator of a pre-owned vehicle dealership. His natural charisma and unwavering determination lead him to be known as one of the best cars sales-men in Southeastern Georgia, with a reputation that stretched far beyond Savannah and Brunswick. His knowledge of cars and uncanny ability to read people was second to none.

Tracy retired in 2021 and spent the following years on Saint Simons Island, where he cherished making lasting memories with his children, grandchildren, and siblings. He found immense joy in leisurely days on the beach, often reminiscing about the past.

Tracy left an indelible mark on all who knew him with his vibrant, untamed spirit.

He is preceded in death by his father Joseph Mason, mother Thelma Mason and sister Faye Malone.

Surviving are his children Casie Hodges, Kala Mason (fiancé Robert Bertz), Dillon Mason, and McKenzie Mason (fiancé Chandler Osebold). Grandchildren Kaydence, Landon, Kinley, Liam, and Ellie Grace.

Siblings G.A. Malone (Faye’s husband), Deborah Mason, Marcelle Godwin, Leonard Mason, Sandra Dorsey (Kenny Dorsey), and Larry Durden. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

So sorry to hear this! Tracy was a great athlete, I had the privilege of coaching him when he was in middle school, I also bought many automobiles from him and Leonard through the years. It was around that time that Tracy and I decided that we would take Scuba diving lessons and became open water certified , he was my diving partner for our ocean certification that required us to go of shore. Needless to say it was an adventure that I will never forget. My prayers are with his family during these times
